Mill Wood Purchase and Restoration Project Important Update
September 2014
The new owner of Halswell House and its Estate also purchased Mill Wood in early 2014. He intends to restore this wonderful garden and its follies to what they were in the mid eighteenth century and work will start with some tree planting in 2014. This is wonderful news as Mill Wood ranks with the best of 18th Century Pleasure Gardens such as Stourhead and Hestercombe. The Halswell Park Trust will provide assistance and advice to the owners on opening the restored park to the public, which he is very keen to do.
